South Carolina Vehicle Accident Report: January 2019

One Killed While Driver Faces DUI Charge

A passenger was killed on January 20th after the driver “left the roadway, striking an embankment and utility pole- ultimately overturning,” according to Police.

The driver, Walter Mucienko III, 29-years-old, was driving a 1994 Ford pick-up truck when the collision occurred. Walter Mucienko Jr., 55-years-old, was the passenger and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Walter Mucienko III “has been charged with DUI resulting in death and possession of a schedule II controlled substance,” according to Fox Carolina.

RV Crashes on I-26

An RV crash involving multiple vehicles occurred close to Exit 63, the Bush Road exit, and caused delays on I-26.

According to an eyewitness statement given to The State, “The RV flipped multiple times and landed sprawled across the interstate.” The driver of the RV suffered minor injuries.

New Year’s Day Accidents Killed Three

Christopher Brame, 29-years-old, was driving a Ford F-150 on Eastview Road when he ran off the road and hit a guardrail, causing the automobile to overturn. Brame was declared dead at the scene.

The exact same day, a second collision occurred on Meadow Road. Based on a statement from authorities, “A Chevrolet Astro Van was heading west on Meadow Road and a Mercedes Benz was heading east when the Mercedes crossed the center line, hitting the Chevrolet.”

Both drivers, 56-year-old, Jeremiah Hartley, and 56-year-old, Kristen Kale, both died at the scene.

Single-Vehicle Crash Killed 33-Year-Old Man

A single-vehicle crash killed a 33-year-old man, Adam Rozovich. Rozovich was driving a 2015 Nissan Versa at a high rate of speed “when his vehicle veered off the side of the road and overturned,” according to an email from Aiken County Coroner, Tim Carlton.

Rozovich was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was ejected from his car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Collision on Highway 34 Killed Two

On January 21st, a fatal accident happened around Marshall Circle in Greenwood. The head-on collision resulted in two deaths. 31-year-old, Wesley Hunter Clinkscales, and 55-year-old, Valerie Annette Davis, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
