Injuries and Loss of Life
The Spartanburg County coroner stated that a 27-year-old man from Union was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals suffered injuries in the crash, and they required transport to an area hospital. A spokesman for the South Carolina Department of motor vehicles confirmed that a CDL test was in progress at the time of the accident. It was also confirmed that the applicant and the DMV person were not injured.
Although the investigation into the cause of this fatal accident is in its earliest stages, South Carolina state law does allow injured victims and survivors of those killed to seek compensation in the civil courts under certain circumstances. When it is possible to reasonably assert that negligent conduct contributed to an injurious accident, it is possible to file a lawsuit.
When a person suffers injuries, compensation is often pursued for unpaid medical expenses, pain-and-suffering and lost wages. When a person dies in a crash, survivors often seek compensation for loss of companionship and burial expenses, along with other losses.
