Although this particular accident investigation is in its earliest stages, victims of traffic accidents often seek compensation in the state’s civil court system. When it is reasonable to allege that negligent conduct led to injury or death, monetary damages are often sought for unpaid medical bills, pain-and-suffering and lost wages. When a person dies, it is often possible to seek monetary damages for loss of companionship and burial expenses. Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is often considered evidence of negligent conduct.
