Columbia Wrongful Death Attorneys Discuss Crash Involving Semi And Pickup

A corporal with the South Carolina Highway Patrol has confirmed the details of a Darlington County accident on Tuesday, April 14. The two-vehicle wreck occurred where State Road 151 and Old Camden Road intersect.

Collision at Intersection

At approximately 11:45 a.m., a 2014 Freightliner truck was southbound on SC 151. As it crossed Old Camden Road, it collided with a 2003 Toyota Tundra. The 63-year-old female driver of the Toyota pickup died as the semi broadsided the vehicle.

Injured Individuals Transported to Hospital 

A passenger in the Toyota Tundra and the driver of the semi required transport to Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center.

The spokesperson for the SC Highway Patrol says that although the investigation is ongoing, there are no charges thus far. The spokesperson went on to say that investigators are trying to determine which driver did not obey the traffic light.

First responders included members of the Darlington County Fire Department, the Lake Robinson Rescue Squad, the Darlington County EMS, along with officers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol and personnel from the Darlington County Coroner’s Office.
