According to a spokesman for the Goose Creek police, dispatchers sent officers to investigate reports of a crash involving a moped and a pickup truck at about 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26. The collision occurred where Red Bank Road and Howe Hall Road intersect.
According to Live 5 News, witnesses say that the driver of the pickup was attempting a left turn from Red Bank Road on to Howe Hall Road. At the same time, the driver of the moped was pulling out from Howe Hall Road, and the two vehicles collided.
Loss of Life Reported
A 44-year-old female from Goose Creek that was operating the moped died at the scene. Authorities say she was wearing a helmet. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
The Goose Creek Police Department and the Berkeley County Coroner continue to investigate this fatal crash.
