Robert F. McMahan’s practice areas include representing injured persons in personal injury, products liability, medical negligence, and insurance bad faith cases. He is licensed to practice law in the state of South Carolina, the U.S. District Court, District of South Carolina, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit, and U.S. Claims Court. He is a current member of the South Carolina Bar, American Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice. He is a certified circuit court mediator and arbitrator.

Robert McMahan was featured in 2014’s “Top Verdicts & Settlements” published in South Carolina Lawyers Weekly.

Robert received his undergraduate degree from Presbyterian College, cum laude, while serving as prosecutor for the Honor Council. He received his J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was on the moot court team and served as Honor Council Chairman.

 

Born in Kingston, NY, Robert grew up in Florence, SC. He served in the U.S Navy as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate, Petty Officer Second Class working as a flight-deck troubleshooter on the aircraft carriers, America, Nimitz and Independence.

 

He spent many years coaching church league basketball and youth league soccer.  In his spare time he enjoys boating, fishing and hiking. He is single and has one son.
